BioClock is the most powerful, yet simple and easy to
use, fertility and pregnancy calculator. Designed by an
ObGyn for women themselves, it is powerful and accurate enough to be the
choice for many obstetricians and midwives.
You can easily and accurately calculate your own
due date from your last period, date of conception, or
from an early ultrasound. Once one parameter is entered, the others are
calculated and displayed on the main screen. For example, you can enter
your due date and see when your last period was or when you likely
conceived. The precise gestational age of your baby is displayed clearly. |
|
|
| |
|
Remember that doctors use "menstrual dates"
to estimate the age of your pregnancy. This means that your
gestational age is expressed in weeks from your last period instead of from the date of
conception. Therefore, if you have just missed your period and discovered
your pregnant, doctors will say that you are 4 weeks
pregnant, yet you are actually carrying a baby that was
conceived 2 weeks ago. A full term pregnancy is
typically expressed as 40 weeks after the first day of your
last period or 38 weeks after conception. Keep in
mind, however, that these calculations are estimates only
and are based on a regular 28 day menstrual cycle. If
you are like most women, and have a slightly longer or shorter
cycle, then you need to take that into account to accurately
date your pregnancy or determine the best time to get
pregnant. Rest assured
that BioClock not only takes this into consideration, but
also accounts for leap years. Simply modify your cycle length, if it is not 28 days, and BioClock
will accurately determine your precise pregnancy dates. |

 |
|
To change a dating parameter, simply click on it. You will be taken
to a secondary screen to set the appropriate date. Once modified, click on
"Done" to be taken back to the main screen. The parameter utilized in the
calculation will be highlighted and the other dates and your
current estimated gestational age will be displayed automatically.
The ultrasound dating parameter remains empty unless you use that parameter to date your pregnancy. |
|
|
| |
|
| |
| You can quickly and
easily determine the precise gestational age of your baby at any time during
your pregnancy, or determine how far along you will be at a certain date.
This is accomplished through a unique, easy to use, “Gestational Age and
Date” interface. This is the most utilized feature of BioClock and
calculates on-the-fly. |
| |
|
| |
For instance, if you need to have a blood test done at 28 weeks, simply click on the gestational age icon at the bottom of the main screen. A "gestational age picker" will instantly appear above it. Simply select "28 weeks" and the date on which you will be 28 weeks will be automatically displayed below. If you wish to know how far along you will be on a certain date, simply click on the date icon and select that date in the "date picker" that appears above. Your gestational age on that date will be automatically displayed. To return to the main screen simply click on the blue ‘x’ icon.
For your protection, BioClock contains optional password security and memory features. If utilized, when you open BioClock, your due date and current gestational age is automatically displayed. |
| |
|
| |
| In addition to powerful and accurate calculations, BioClock also includes unique calendar options to assist women in predicting future menstrual cycles, keeping track of cycle length, and predicting fertile days. |
| |
- The Due Date
calendar displays your "due date range", or the dates on which the
majority of healthy women can expect to see their baby.
Remember that only
5% of babies are born on their due date, however, the majority of women
go into labor naturally with the 10 days on either side. For that
reason, many doctors often give their patients a "due date range”, which
is displayed, instead of a specific “due date”.

If you are trying to
get pregnant, the Fertility calendar can help you improve your
chances by suggesting the best times to be intimate. Knowing
your fertile days can help you increase your chances of getting
pregnant, or help avoid an unplanned pregnancy. Obviously, if you don’t
want to get pregnant, it’s very important to use an effective
contraceptive method. This calendar also
estimates and displays your next few menstrual cycles, which can be
helpful for planning purposes.
Your predicted future menses (colored shades of red), ovulation date
(release of egg - colored yellow), and best days to get pregnant
(fertile days - colored green) are shown. You are most fertile on
the day before and the day after ovulation, but sperm can live in your
body for approximately 4 days and your egg can survive for 24-48 hours
after being released. Therefore, your fertile period starts
approximately 4 days before ovulation and ends approximately 24-48 hours
after ovulation. Because you cannot know for certain when you
actually ovulate, if you are trying to get pregnant, it is best to be
intimate every second day, indicated by the red circles, during this fertile period.

If you are keeping
track of your cycles, need to have a test done on a certain day, or take
medication (progesterone) in the luteal phase of your cycle, you’ll find
the Cycle Days calendar helpful.
This calendar user your date of last period to count forwards.
It displays the luteal phase (colored yellow) and likely ovulation date
(circled green) of your previous cycle.
